Having cache troubles on DriveTheBall ?

If you seem to be seeing old versions of the PDF teesheet or other pages while you are using DriveTheBall, you may have a caching issue. Caching is when internet browsers store old versions of web pages to increase the speed of the browser. By storing old pages, the browser does not need to look for them every time it loads a page. Because DriveTheBall pages are continuously updating, this tends to disagree with browser caching. The instructions below show how you can set your internet browser to check for new web page versions all the time.

#1: For Internet Explorer 6
#2: For Internet Explorer 7
#3: For Firefox

1. For Internet Explorer 6

Step 1. Click on "Tools" and then on "Internet Options".

Step 2. Click on "Settings".

Step 3. Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages", make sure "Every visit to the page" is selected.

Step 4. Click on OK, Click on OK again, and you're done.

2. For Internet Explorer 7

Step 1. Click on "Tools" and then on "Internet Options".

Step 2. Click on "Settings" under "Browsing History".

Step 3. Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages", make sure "Every time I visit the webpage" is selected.

Step 4. Click on OK, Click on OK again, and you're done.

3. For Firefox

Firefox doesnt actually have an option to always check for new pages like IE does. If you think you may be experiencing a caching issue, just follow these steps and your cache will be cleared. (Note: It also helps to set your cache to 0 as seen in the second firefox picture).

Step 1. Click on "Tools" and then on "Options".

Step 2. Click on the "Advanced" Tab at the top. Click on the "Network" tab, then click on "Clear Now".

Step 3. Click on OK and you're done.
